Hey guys looking to add a second battery in my 08 1500. 5.7 for car audio.
Been doing some reading and seems to I need switch to cai? And get a tray from a 2500 . Can someone verify this .

Also at low rpm I get a flutter as I accel, what could this be 02 sensor ?

Thanks !

I'd rather put it under the hood.

Running 1500w rms amp for subs
500w rms amp for speakers.
But I want to upgrade eventually .

Look at Xs power for a good battery. You may have to make a custom cai but idk. Are you running a bigger alt as well?

No bigger alt right now, I've heard mine is fine for two batteries .

And the sputter/ flutter is hard to explain..if I'm doing 50 n let off the gas n coast, then accel again, I hear it until I accel harder

Maybe an exhaust leak. Mine does something like that at the same speed . Gasket at front pipe is leaking apparently

Yeah 136-160 isn't going to help me a whole lot, when I upgrade the alt I'll be going to 240+

Could be just as simple as changing a 10 dollar gasket. Run the truck and climb under. See if you hear an exhust leak. A quick fix to see if it was the problem is to use a bit of muffler cement to temporary seal the area maybe.

No need to plug the muffler at all. Just fill the leaks with muffler cement for a quick fix. Won't last long but at least you'll know where the exhaust leak is coming from.

Not sure if you have figured out your battery issue but there is alot out there that you can borrow from the jeep 4x world using optima sealed batteries. you can mount under on the frame where there is room. Look into balistic fab or rustys offroad. ORU may make some stuff too.

Or something like this down under the cab or bed. You can always put it on the passenger side of the frame close to the amp in the cab.
