2004 hemi quad cab. Stock as far as I can tell except dual exhaust and intake. I was on this site a couple months ago but it took longer than I expected to find a truck so I'm back. The truck has a power steering leak, I've heard this is common with our trucks and pretty cheap to fix. How much time do I have to get it taken care of? Thanks

Dealer pic but w/e, and I'm thinking of taking those hood scoops off any thoughts?

Congrats and welcome back. :)

My 05 had a power steering leak too, it was a common thing, came from the return line. I got it fixed right after I discovered it.

Clean truck is it 2wd? I would relocate the hemi badge to match newer model rams, or remove them. My 05' has a new power steering pump, I guess the previous owner already ran into the leaking problem but didn't realize it till the pump went out lol

I had a leek in mine but i used a power steering fluid with conditioner. As soon as it got through the system havnt seen a leek or any signs of it. Fluid levels havnt moved in months. Maybe look into that?

Thanks for the replies, I'll probably take those scoops off tomorrow. I guess just something to lever them up and goof off? Kinda nervous about damaging the paint.

An eraser wheel would work better.

Should be ok, just hope there isn't any ghosting under them.

Nice truck man. And the ps leak if coming from the return line, takes a hose clamp and 30 secs to fix.

Thanks guys. I tried locating the leak today but I couldn't find one, maybe it is a very very slow leak? The steering is still fine, and no funny noises coming from the pump as far as I could tell. As for the hood scoops I'm probably gonna go with some fishing line and a blowdryer/hot summer day. Anyone recommend any aftermarket parts to improve the truck? Not necessarily looking for performance and I already have exhaust/intake, any parts I should get for endurance? Which parts are more commonly known to fail? I'd like to do some preventive maintance. I think it already had a rack&pinion replaced

Edit: I know, I should use the Search feature. My bad.
