used to you would have to do an complete flush of the engine when changing to a synthetic from a conventional. However, now days, they are completely mixable and you can switch as often as you wish between the two at any time. You will find that allot of people (not here but in general) do not suggest Fram for a filter...NAPA Gold filters are great and are made by Wix...I have heard horror stories of the bypass valves sticking in the Fram filters, but have never experienced it myself.

Just remember to follow your manufacturers suggested oil change intervals even with the synthetics if you are still under a factory warranty.

Mobile one full synthetic is what I use with a mopar filter. The oil is the cheapest at wallyworld.

I bought a box of the purp once and used it for 2 cycles, then switched to mobil 1, I couldnt see any difference at all. I liked the feeling of knowing that I put the best oil in my truck, but at 120$ a box thats a 70$ oil change! With the mobil 1 its more of a 40$ oil change much easier on the wallet, and I think it does just as good a job in our trucks.

Ditto:
That is what I use.
I have had Fram failures and won't use them on anything I own. Failures have included the filter not threaded to spliting. When shopping if nothing else line up a few different brand filters and look at how they are manufactured. There is quite a bit of difference quality between them. Good luck...

Well in my truck I was using royal purple but since switched to mobile1 and a six filter. On the stang though I use quaker state or penzoil with the dreaded fram filter. I have had no issues.

Mobil one filter and full synthetic. I have a mopar filter, that I'll use in 1500 miles.(next oil change) That and a tranny flush are the next maintenance items. Then I should be good till, omg, 65k oil n filter. My truck is getting old!!!

I should buy stock in RP with all their product I've got at my house. A case of their ATF with a Wix transmission filter, 7 qts of diff fluid, and a case of 10W30 with a Wix and Mopar filter
