Default Fuel Injectors
I'm putting together a remanufactured engine, putting it in an 03 ram 1500 4x4 4.7. My existing fuel rail was severely rusty. Found an ram & a grand Cherokee in local boneyard & the Cherokee had the better rail, so I took that. I noticed one of my injectors was cracked, so I grabbed an injector from the Cherokee. Looks identical.

2 sets of #'s on mine are 53032145AA & 2262Y01770

2 sets of #'s off Cherokee are 53032145AA & 2149W12514

Same plug runs them, but now I'm scratching my head & asking if its ok to use the 2nd injector. Anyone with knowledge please help

Here's a pic, both have 2 little holes in nozzle

the 53032145AA is the chrysler part number. you typed them both the same...so i'm assuming they are both labeled 53032145AA. As far as the other number...probably just a mfg number...or serial #. pretty irrelevant. If they all have 53032145AA, you're good to go...or at least as good as you can be with junkyard fuel injectors.lol

Yes both the 530 #'s are the same. So that is good news. I'll use it. Spray through nozzle looks the same, in the process of cleaning them, hooked up to a can of carb cleaner with modified Schrader valve, then battery charger for power supply lol

Thank you very much sir for getting back

And yeah, I think the Cherokee was a little newer then my 03 ram, so that's the better injector then all the rest lol

Yikes, I have a can of tb cleaner to. Done now though. I watched like 5 YouTube videos, & I think 3 of the guys used brakeclean & the other 2 used carb cleaner. I thought the break clean was a bit much, so I went with the carb. Any reason you can think of why I couldn't give newer fuel rail a little paint job, or should it be left alone. I ask cause it doesn't look like normal steel, maybe its galvanized, but the one I got from boneyard looks 80 times better then my old one

Most paints will melt off with gas exposure. If you are going to do anything, id reccomend a very good paint like por15 . Or..an aftermarket set of fuel rails.

when I was replacing my intake manifold gasket's on my 3.5L, I found 3 of my injectors had cracks in the plastic body. I was a little worried, at first, but they didn't leak before, and they weren't the problem before, so I just cleaned them up, & reinstalled them. I watched them for awhile, but they didn't leak, and the engine rus fine. So I wouldn't necessarily be overly concerned with a cracked body on those things, if they don't leak.
