Hi!

I hope you guys could help me with a problem. I'm fr.o.m. Sweden and i just bought a 2006 dodge ram 2500 sport. I love the truck so far but here is the problem. When i search on sites usling my vin nr i get a vin nr that belongs to a ram 1500. Is there any sure ways to tell the diffrence between a 1500 and a 2500 sport? Is there any diffrence?

Regards
Johan

A 2500 will have a solid front axle. A 1500 will independent suspension

I would say the easiest way is to count your lug nuts on one of your wheels. 1500=5 lug nuts 2500=8 lug nuts.

Arent solid front axles for a 4WD? I have a 04 3500 Sport Dually and it has A-Arms (Independent Suspension)....and its a 2WD...there are 2WD Rams with solid front axles? Hmmmm....I'd say count them lugs like HemiSLT said....I have 10 lugs per wheel, actually I have 18, 8 for the adapter and 10 for the wheel to go on that adapter...:)

Idk when they offered the mega cab in a 1500 but it's pretty much a 2500 labeled a 1500 with 8 lugs so..

This is correct. 1500 will have ifs unless it is a mega cab. This may be why he thinks he has a 2500 but is pulling up info for a 1500.
