So i came into work yesterday for a 6 day strait duty. about 1 foot of snow on the roads, truck handled it fine. As i got into point plesant the snow drifts off the ocean were piling up to 6-8 ft. apparently nj dont have enough plows to do the side streets yet. so i got stuck in a 4 ft snow drift in the parking lot. well, i got out to dig out the back tires and hit the lock button, wife is in ny with a spare key, truck is running with the exaust burried, and im cold and wet, so i thought of the cheapest way in and i figured it would be the rear window,...............a kick with a steel toe and it shattered, all over my interior. everywere. i shoved a snow suit in the hole to keep most of the ice out but the wind is gusting 40+ here. its just the center window and its not power. so how much is this gunna cost me, and do i have to buy the whole rear window....................not a good night and now im stuck here for 6 days

From what I understand with my truck so I can guess it would be similar is that the sliding window part isn't replaceable with a stock glass. You have to get it custom cut cause it's too difficult to get into the tracks so that it will slide. Get a piece of plexiglass when you get out and use that for the time being.

Edit Dave and I posted at the same time. Dammit dave. lol

I really don't know about your newer style I know my truck has 2 pieces that slide so I don't know how hard your one piece would be.

Might have to get the whole thing replaced...LMC sells the whole sliding backglass in dark grey for $279.00...get that and pay someone to install it....or call someone like Glass Doctor or Safety Lite...

When yall lock your keys in your truck, break one of the side back windows. Any glass place will have it and you can install it in about 30min. Just unbolt the broken one from the track and bolt the new one on. Easy. If you break any one piece of the back glass then you will have to replace the whole back window.

i keep a wire coat hanger up under my toolbox. i locked my keys in my truck a while back with the engine running. i pulled the door back enough to get the hanger in past the weather stripping and hit my power window button for the front door. voila! in my truck and no broken window or locksmith bill! sorry to hear about ur misfortune brother!

are the backglasses for these trucks urethaned in? If so, just pay glass Doctor, cause you dont want any leaks...if it just has a seal it is very easy to do and can be done in less than an hour with some rope and soapy water...I did mine in my S10...literally took less than an hour to remove the old one and install another one.
