How do you get your door handles off? I am going to install some jimmyjammers but have never taken the handles off, or really looked out the best way to get to the back to do the install.

Once your door panels are off you peel back the plastic that covers the door and you will see 2 nuts per each handle. Make sure you use a magnetic socket cause if you drop one you could be in trouble. You will also have to un-hook the lock part but thats the same as the hood release clip.

What are Jimmi Jammers?

The patented Jimmi Jammer™ is an inexpensive yet effective vehicle security product. Protects your vehicle and personal property inside from theft.

* Easy, bolt-on installation, no cutting or drilling
* Comes with installation instructions, window warning labels and hardware if needed
* Several models available
* Made in the U.S.A.

Alarms are great, we recommend getting one, but it is also important to have other vehicle security measures as well. Passive theft deterrents, such as ours, can help protect your property from theft!

The following install was performed on a 2008 Ram Quad Cab.

Remove door panel. Disconnect the 2 connectors that run to the window switch. Pull the white plastic back from the upper rear corner of the door.

Pic from behind the door panel:

Remove 8MM nut from door handle. Removal of the rearward nut is all that is required. Position the Jimmi Jammer over the handle bolt and shimmy it behind the lock mechanism. The driver's door can be quite tough. It may help to detach the frontward rod.

Installed jimmi jammer (pass side)

Rear Doors

Remove the following:

- door handle (use T-30 or 10MM socket)

-phillips screw by door handle

Remove the door panel and disconnect the single connector by the window switch.

Pic from behind the door panel:

DSC04676.jpg

Pull back the plastic door cover from the upper rear of the door.

Remove small plastic cover (oval looking thing on the left)

DSC04679.jpg

Install for the rear - no pics. Its VERY tight to see in there, and there was no way to get any good pictures.

Remove 8MM nut from door handle. Removal of the rearward nut is all that is required. You can access this from the small oval section at the rear of the door. Position the Jimmi Jammer over the handle bolt. With your other hand slightly open the door handle from the outside. Slip the jimmi jammer over the top of the mounting stud. You will need to hold the jimmi jammer at a slight angle to get it to drop into place. It may help to detach the inner rod as well.

Thats it!

We just had 5 vehicles today get broken into today in our office complex parking lot, the two trucks next to mine had their handels popped off and a few others had the locks punched. All during the during office hours. Luckily no one in our office had them punched in

the fronts were the hardest, as they didn't want to loop over the lock - so it was a bit tougher. It would probably be easier for you skinny farts who can contort your body. :D

In the end....I didn't get a set for the new truck - if they want it bad enough, they'll break the glass. :(

If they want to break the glass, let them, it'll set off the alarm (well opening the door would too) and my alarm would page me and I'd be out the door. Windows (I would assume) would be an easier fix than having to fix a dented door from them prying the handle off or punching the lock out.
