Found some good deals on some new bilsteins shocks for my truck so I got them. The fronts may be here by sat but the backs will be here sometime next week. I can't wait to get these on and get rid of the crappy stockers. Will have lots of pics when installed.

Congrats! I just ordered some too! Mine come in next tuesday.

Could you give me a little write up on how to install them? I can find the torque specs I think. But do I need a spring compressor thing? haha

Help me out.

Thanks

This will be the first time for me installing shocks but if my front ones get here before the weekend then ill do a little write up on the install. Our front ends are a little different though since yours is 4wd and the front ends also changed a little in 06. Aren't the front shocks on the 06s and up actually struts?

Yes. My front ones are the weird struts lol, and the rears are the normal gas shock.

Please do write a little something up, it will benefit me. Are you installing these on your 3rd or 4th gen ram?

They are going on my 3rd gen. Since yours are struts then I think you do need a spring compressor. I have one from when I installed the airbags in our 4th gen. I got it at autozone for like $35.

Caleb doing the shocks on your 3rd gen are simple. The rears you can just crawl under and swap, the fronts just need the tires off the ground. Its all bolt/unbolt on that.

None the least... your gonna need a small wrench to hold the top of the front shock while you run the nut down to tighten it. No need for air tools either on this other then pulling the wheels.

Thanks for the tips man!

Missouri City/Sugarland Area, southwest houston.

I was going to say you could borrow the one I have but i live up in the woodlands area and it would cost more in gas to come up and get it lol.

I appreciate that. They just built an autozone about 2 miles from my house, so convenient.
I'll let you know how mine goes when I am done. I can't wait to see the difference.

I just got off the phone with Bilstein an hour ago.

How do they feel?

I was looking to re do the shocks on mine as well. Does anyone here know which ones I would need? Could use a little help. Don't wanna buy the wrong ones and delay the project any longer.

You'll love the Bilsteins, I have them all the way around. Singles in front and duals in the back, handling and ride is great!
