Default LED tail light bulbs help

Have any of you installed LED bulbs in your stock tail lights? If so, what bulb number?

I have tried these off ebay which I matched up to the orig bulb number and they would work with the 4 way flashers but when I tried turn signals or brake lights they would not light up brighter (like normal brake lights). I somehow managed to blow my fuse when testing these out.

Did I get the wrong bulbs number or will this truck not work with LEDS???

My truck is a 2002 1500 Quad cab 5.9 if that matters

Also, here is the title of the auction I bought. The actual number for my tail lights is 3057.

from ebay: 3157 18 SMD LED turn light bulb 3057 4157 3157A red

I do not like the cheapo aftermarket entire LED tail lights, im just wanting to put the LED bulbs in my existing tail lights

Thanks in adv

You need to wire a resistor in for them to blink. Truck thinks its a bulb out since they are so low, so you have to trick them.

I picked up my resistors from radio shack.

the bulbs? Yes, they are the same number as the stock so they just plug right in like the clear regular bulbs

I believe my resistors are 8ohm 20 watt.

He is switching bulbs, not the housings. I believe those aftermarket housing have the resistor built in.

I would get a 6ohm 50 watt resistor
Connect one wire to ground and the other wire to the turn/brake wire. You can use the T taps so you do not have to cut your car's wiring. One Load Resistor is required for each turn signal bulb.
