Ok so im looking at an 03 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.7l hemi 4wd and 5" lift on 315/70r17s it has 156,000 miles and I checked it for usual dodge rot. It has it on the bed in the rear corners and in the rockers so I assume I'd have to get new rockers and a bed on it at some point. The lot that its on is asking $8000. Is it a good deal? Should I look for other issues as well? Is there much life left in it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The frame is pretty clean and no blown axle seals or leaky diffs. No engine or tranny leaks. At least that I could see.

I shoulda took pics of the truck. But it looks like it was a show truck. Nice fancy rims and no hitch at all. The main thing im worried about is the mileage. My 5.9l has 100,500 and I've replaced the front axle the real axle and the transmission all within that span. I didnt know if maybe the gen 3's had similar issues. Ever since I drove a challenger I've been a hemi guy and I love trucks and the gen 3's are my 2nd favorite body style. Especially lifted and sport packaged mmmmmmmm hemi powered lol. Anyway thinks for replying to my post

Sounds expensive for the year and the miles.

That's alot of mileage for the year if you really want it you should really try to work the price down on it. Lift and tires don't add to value it actually drops. Does it have life left? Of course but expect to do maintenance and repairs soon it just depends how well it was serviced and cared for. $8k is not very overpriced but $6-7500 sounds more fair with the mileage.

I wouldn't want to go to a newer truck with more mileage than what I already own. Don't need to jump into more problems IMO

I have an 03 quad 4x4 hemi. Got it with 111000 on it. Had to drop a grand in the front end. It is stock by the way. Lifted puts more strain on things as I understand it. I would try to talk them down some. Good looking is great! But the extra ching to keep it going can hit hard. My opinion is there is a lot of life left in it. Just my .02
