Ok fellow ram owners got a issue for ya. I have a 06 mega hemi 4x4. It eats power steering pumps like skittles. 3 in a year. I ha e the pulley installed correctly. Only use a puller and install tool. No leaks and no whining. No notice of the pump going bad. It has lost all pressure while in a turn, that sucked. Fluid does smell burnt, but its only a steering box. Not rack and pinion. Any thoughts?

i can only give you this as a comparison ... i worked on a ,,, uggghhh ford f 350 ... same issue ... went through 3 pumps.... called ford and the factory recommendation was to replace darn near every thing ... pump, high and low pressure hoses, cooler .. and thats the only way they would warranty the 4 the pump that we put on ( we didnt do the fort 3 ) he never called or came back so im assuming it was a successful fix.

if i recall correctly it was about an 80000 mile truck
