i am looking at a used truck an 04 1500 4x4 rcsb with a lift (not sure on how much.) It also has 35's but they a really wide not sure how much thought. My question is how hard if it to turn the wheel of ur truck? i cant turn the wheel on this one if it is sitting there or from a dead stop. Is this normal with big tires or could there be something wrong. Also is there anything inparticular is need to look for?

with the truck on you should be able to turn them but not as easy as if they were moving . this is where the power steering comes into play . if the truck is off ... you aint turning them
how wide are they 13.5 ?

rule of thumb is you shouldnt ever try to turn the wheels unless you're moving anyways. A) it wears out the tires faster, B) you'll be replacing the power steering pump every couple months. get in the habit of rolling before you start turning.

that being said, it should still be able to turn them while the truck is on. if you cant, the power steering pump might be shot or close to it.

I can turn my 35s no problem. Sounds like either power steering is going out, or something is binding.

Even when I drop my pressure for the beach, I can still turn them in the parking lot.

5.7 hemi with 64000 miles. not sure on the air pressure. Wat should it be they are pro comp xterains 35's. would a narrower tire make a differance. If it is the power steering pump how much is one and is there a heavier duty one. these are the tires

If you can't turn them, it's the pump. I have no idea what they cost. Maybe check with Henson?

i wouldnt buy a lifted truck unless you knew its histroy... theyre usually beat to hell (unless theyre on this site)
most people lift for a reason- they think it makes them cool and tough, and then they want to show off how cool and tough they are by beating the **** out of their truck..
most of us on here lift them because we like the look... how many "just washed" pics do you see vs "just mudded" pics on here. lol
maybe this guy just liked the look too... how old is he? what are some of his other toys? its damn near impossible to get rid of all the mud.. look it over, if you find it in weird places, it was mudded
lets see some pics!
and yes, you should be able to turn the wheel...

Yeah cheapbeater has it down. See if this truck has had the **** beat outta it by looking for mud in places people usually do not look as in T case cross member, above the fuel tank or on top of the front diff are good places to look. Or check the PS fluid level could be something dumb simple.
