Hello!
Just bought my first Dodge Ram. It's a 2002 SLT Ram Quad Cab. Paid $2000. Needs some minor work but I have always wanted one of these trucks. I am not new to the Mopar scene. Now I have a built Chrysler 300c that I am going to sell. I'm getting to old for the little toys..I want the big toys now! I will be in and out as I start learning about this truck. My first thing to ask... Dual exhaust. The po removed the cats so of course I have the check engine light with code po442... Emissions I believe. I MUST have dual exhaust in this truck. Any suggestions? Will I need to put cats back on it? Any thoughts or suggestions about anything on this truck would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

I forgot to ask what years are interchangeable on these trucks? I assume 2002-2008?

Depends on what you're wanting to swap around. 02-05 is a better range as quite a few changes were made in 06-08.

You could do the 02 sensor nonfouler trick. Google it as I'm no good at explaining it, but it can fix the lack of cat problems.

Thanks. As I said earlier, I have a 2005 Chrysler 300c and I know these mopar cars have MANY different hidden items we can do within the dash and such.

Like already stated you can use a no fouler to fool the sensors readings. Disconnect your battery before anything. Basically you bore out 1 no fouler completely with 1/2 drill bit I believe and then put the 2 together and screw the assembly into the o2 ****. Install your sensor reattach the battery terminal and take a drive :)

I know it's not much to look at but I got it cheap enough I will be putting money in it to make it my "own". "Chadize" it as my wife says.
Is there any downloadable service manual and parts manuals for these trucks? I really would like to know what year body parts are interchangeable.
Thanks

Please tell me that windshield sticker bubba.

You could get some fiberglass front fenders since yours are well.. nonexistent. That'd be cool

Ready for a 06-08 front end lol. Since you have a 5.9 gasser that's more of a rarity in the 3rd gens.

Crazy story... Bubba was already on there when I looked at it. My sister and neice died 3 months ago. They always called me Bubba. My neice was 3 and my sister was 31. I dont think I can take it off. I know it sounds weird but it was a sign. I really believe that.

Really? I didn't know that. The inside of this truck is in really good condition. I plan to put about $3000 in it. That's my plan but plans change... Maybe more? Don't want to get upside down on this truck but I do believe I have some room to "play".

Quick question... While I look for parts I notice more often than not that it will state a SLT Crew Cab as fitment but doesn't say anything about an SLT Quad Cab. That shouldn't make a difference as long as it's the same year correct? I wouldn't think it would make a difference if it's for a standard cab either. In this example, I am looking for replacement headlights and taillights.

I quess what I am asking is does the SLT Crew Cab parts and standard cab parts fit the Quad cab?
This the list of parts I am in the hunt for...
Fenders, Headlights and Taillights, I want the front bumper cover and front bumper. I also want the back bumper with the dual exhaust cut outs in it. Will those bumpers work for my truck? Any help or guidance is appreciated.
I plan to put duel exhaust on it as well. Would you put the cat back on it and run from the cat back or would you go from the manifolds back? Not looking for extra power at all. Just want a nice sounding truck.

Also... I think I have it figured out but I must have the 3rd Gen 2002? My top bumper cover and headlights have the double "dip" in it. If my research is correct, the 2nd Gen 2002 did not have the double dip headlight... Correct? How can I tell with the VIN?

Body parts will work the doors will only work cab specific. Your truck is a 3rd gen. The 2500 an 3500 trucks for the 02 model year looked like the 94-01 1500s.
