Ok I have been looking through these posts for a couple days now.

My 06, 1500 QC 4x4 5.7 make a rubbing / squeak sound when pulling away from a stop. It doesnt do it when I first pull out of my drive way but 5 minutes down the road......

I havent had much of a chance to get under it. Just curious if anyone else uas had the same issue.

Sorta sounds like brakes rubbing but not as high pitched. Real hard to describe.

Any help would be very much appriciated.

Check your drive shafts U joints, and your rear hanger bearing if equipped.

What I meant by "5 min" was when I first get in the truck and pull out my driveway there is no noise. But about 3 mile down the road, pulling away from a stop sign or signal light I start to hear it.

I think my truck occasionally does what the OP is talking about.

I'm also pretty confident in my belief that it is what USAF2006 has stated.

Where is the noise coming from? Can you get a rough idea of location?

If I ever thought I had a sticky brake caliper I would always try applying the brakes while pulling away or rolling to see if the sound would change. If it didn't then that would make me think it was something else like a U-joint, pulley, belt etc.

If you suspect the brake calipers, you can make several stops, get out and feel the center section of each wheel. They should all feel the same temperature, if one is much hotter than the rest, you have a caliper that isn't releasing completely.

Could it be associated with warmup and thinning oil. If the differential hasn't been done recently I think I would pull the cover and check it.

ill check the temp of the calipers and try braking while pulling away. left driver side rotor has what looks like rough gouges in it. dealer service rep told me they resurfaced all the rotors and balanced all the wheels while it was in service. i know i can replace the pads and rotor easy enough but hell if that is the problem im going to make the dealership pay for it.

thanks for all the info. ill post what i find out later.

Got the wife to drive around the neighborhood. I sat in the back seat. At first it wouldnt do anything. So had her go out on the main road go about 35 or 40. At the first stop.... squeaky brakes when stopping( high pitch) when pulling away very low pitch squeaky rubbing noise from the rear end....

Brakes? Rear diff? Ideas thought concerns?

Any handy ways to be sure before I go back to the dealer and give them the WTF?
