I still cant call it but i will DEFINITELY say from what ive seen the 5th gen is the ugliest. looks like it was built for a TRON movie or something, 1/2 truck 1/2 futuristic sports mobile crossover deal... happened to street bikes a while ago. 99-2000 a street bike looked like a street bike, now they look like a machine that was built for space time traveling lol.

I'm having a hard time deciding. On one hand, I think the 4g will age better as time goes on. That, and I would be able to do my frame shortening on a QC with that and have a factory bed on it {the baby bed 5'7"} whereas if I wanted to do that on a 3rd gen, I'd either have to custom make it, or find a 4g bed and graft on the 3g sides and tailgate.

**le sigh**

In the end 4g comes in first for me. Especially with Tri-colors, or modded/aftermarket/retrofit headlights.

3g with sport-laramie bumper[if you can get headlights without the dumb lines or dome bulges], and 3.5g with a paint matched upper eyelid tie for second.

{{See the trend of me liking aftermarket/modded/custom heads?}}

Then 2g in third because it's old and dated looking, but has the club cab which I oh so miss {please, manufacturers, bring back half-length rear door extended cabs and ~130"-135" wheelbases!}

Then 1g because it's just too old.

5g, IDK. Spy shots and a few concepts look uglier than Chelsea Clinton. Only one concept that kinda has Durango/Grand Cherokee headlights {basically, slightly squintier versions of what the 4g has} looks remotely good. The rest just suck.

Surprised nobody mentioned 1 gens (the original!). I kind of like the look of the first gen 2500 4x4's. Never owned one though.

I love the 4th generation. And it seems that I am not the only one. So much so that the shape has not changed since 2009, with only minor cosmetic stuff. That says the shape has stood the test of time when other competitors have changed shapes about twice now.
And then RAM went and bought out the Rebel. Easily the best looking in stock form.

Agreed, Knight. I SO wish they offered the Rebel with the EcoDiesel....

But, then again, I also wish they offered the QC with the shortbed[5'7"] kinda like how GM used to have their extended cab with the 5'10 bed, making it a 136" wheelbase, or how Ford has the small Raptor with their Super Cab and the 5'6" bed [or just the regular trucks with that setup], though, IDK the wheelbase of that.

And, to what are you referring to as "yuck", my good sir? A Rebel with an EcoDiesel? The EcoDiesel in general, the Rebel in general, or the idea of a QCSB ~133" wheelbase truck?

Never really liked the look of the first gen. Have owned a 2, 3, 3.5 and 4 gen and each time I thought it was the best looking til the next came out. So right now I like the 4th the best and will see what the next one brings. Don't like the pics above for the 1500 at all though, but am a bit biased to the HD versions admittedly.

My favorite for looks was the 2nd gen. This is my old 2002 CTD. I sold it and bought a 14 express 1500 4x4 with a hemi.

Next would be 4th gen, my 2014 1500.

its hard to beat a square body anything so 1st but I think they all look good minus that hideous grill they put on the rebel and the newer 4th gens that are super loaded up.

I like them all... but depends on the build, can't say for stock cause I hate any vehicle stock....

4th gens RCSB look the best dropped to the ground, QCSB/CCSB's look the best lifted...

3rd gens the same thing, especially megacabs being lifted and the dually fenders on the 3rd gen megas are the best

2nd gens to me all look good lifted and goofy lowered

1st gens, you just can go wrong with them in any for, lifted lowered, gas diesel etc etc...

But my favorite is to go to the way back to the early power wagons, 1946-58 are the best out of all of them!!!!!
I will still take a 1st and 2nd gen though as I have yet to own those two so far

I like the square pre ram models like the warlocks with round headlights myself the best. id love to have a square crew 70s with a ctd in it or a square pre 81 chevy with one swapped in. I planned to build a chevy like that but life got in the way. I love old crew cab trucks just cause you don't see em much.

For me, my personal favorite is the 02-05 3rd Gen trucks, as far as looks goes. They look beefy as hell, and with the 20" wheels wearing 275/65s, it strikes the perfect combination of wheel/tire/wheelwell size.
If I were to lower a Ram, the only choice for me is the 2nd Gen trucks. They look squatter in overall height, and lowering brings out that perfectly, in my personal opinion.
If I wanted a dually truck, I would get a Megacab model, and get the frame stretched to fit a full length 8' bed on her. I've seen the dually Megas... and all I can think is "WTFF?!?" Seriously, it looks like an extremely cheap chinese made oversized fender flare ordered off that really sketchy shop on Ebay. If stretching the frame is out, then I will choose a regular Quadcab Dually over a Megacab Dually.
The only thing I would want a 1st gen Ram would be for making it into a Lil' Red Express copy lol

If going on stocl looks alone... 3 (early), 3 (late), 2, 1, 4
