I just bought a 2004 1500 with a 4.7 and 147000 milesfrom a local dealer. It has a power steering leak. The dealer replaced the high pressure line, but I still get a nice puddle of fluid in my driveway. The dealer said he'd look at it today, is there a direction I can point him towards? The leak is down around the rack.

Wow. I would let the dealership figure it out. If ANY of there techs could not figure it out that is just sad.

Could be the rack itself...

Turned out they tore the o ring when installing the line. So far, no leaking.

Sometimes the low pressure side leaks right where the hose attaches to the rack-n-pinion...a quick simple fix is just put another hose clamp on it and tighten it down if it stops you know that's where the leak is. Now you can decide how to proceed...mines had two clamps on it for almost 3 years.....your milage may very

I did this same exact thing when I had my 2005. Wrap electrical tape first then put a hose clamp and tighten it down. Used 2 and never had another issue. It was a common issue

Glad it worked out. My dealer couldn't fix it either so I fixed it myself
