Follow the upper radiator hose down to the block. It's on the drivers side. 2 bolts and it's off.

Yea you'll lose fluid in the change. I think I heard one jug of antifreeze should cover wat you lose.

Mopar coolant only with these trucks. Straight from the dealer.

My only problem with this install was that I couldn't get to the bolts without the hose off, and I couldnt get the hose off because the clamp had been turned down, and I couldnt get a tool under there. Eventually ended up getting the bolts off with friends and got the clamp turned around afterwards.

It doesn't need to be Mopar, it just needs to be HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology).

Zerex G-05 is HOAT (and also the manufacturere of the Mopar stuff).

Have you installed and/or modified it yet?

Notice that tstat has two raised "rings" in it. Some folks say the tstat needs to be trimmed to fit. Others claim it fits as is. I always trim. If you decide to trim, trim the outside until it is flush with the large "ring". It's about 1 mm and takes just a few minutes with a dremel. Less with a grinder!

For the bleed hole, which is a must, drill a hole in the inner ring. The smaller the better. An 1/8" bit is almost too big. the inner ring is raised on one side and (surprise!) indented on the other- that makes it easy to drill!

The gasket slips right around the outer rim of the tstat and seals both the tstat and the housing. No rtv or sealant needed.

I have the therm and extra coolant. However it is about to be winter and up here in Montana it gets pretty cold. Anywhere from -30 to +40 from November till end of February. Would it still be ok to change it out to the 180 or should I keep the stock one in until next spring?

I've read that the heater might not get hot enough with the 180 in there.

I would run a power wire instead, Thats what a lot of northern fellas do. Ya get the same hp gain and keep the warmth as well. I have one left, 5 bucks and it;s yours.

oxidation. With all the aluminum parts being used a different blend of antifreeze was developed. But I think a short term use of the green stuff would do no harm.

Is it plug n play?

More like one cut, stripping each end of the wires and crimping the power wire to each end. Easy 3 minute add-on. I got one from rocket and it works. My programmer shows me the air temp. entering the intake and it stays at one temp the whole time. Hot or cold outside.

First thing, don't panic.

There is no "danger" here. Nothing is going to break or explode. Mopar's HOAT is a long life coolant good for 100k miles designed specifically for aluminum parts. It's the best fluid out there. Almost all of the manufacturers now use some version of a HOAT formula. With that said, the main drawback to universal fluid is it's shortened lifespan (36,000 vs 100,000 miles). I wouldn't run out and change it tomorrow. A year or so will be fine. Just remember your aluminum protection is reduced during this time.
