Should I rebuild the front stock sway bar with new bushings or go all the way and get moog sway bar links?

I can understand buying expensive tie rod ends so you can grease them, but I really don't see any point in spending $80+ vs $30 and just do the bushings.

Thoughts?

If it was me I would just replace the bushings with the polyurethane ones from the local parts house.

Ok, So what exactly am I looking at replacing though? Im looking at parts on autozone.com and they have it all confusing. They dont just have bushings for my truck specifically so im unsure of what to buy.

I know I need 35mm U shapped bushings for the front. I'll go and get the zerk grease ones. :)

The Guy at Napa let me look through his kits. Got 4 red poly ones and beleive it was for a 95 Grand Am...LOL... But it saves buying the whole knuckle assy. But not sure if 06 is same as 02-05 trucks.

Mine seems to have some sort of a ball joint at the bottom, and then two rubber bushings on top and bottom on either side.

Does the ball joint not need to be replaced? They look slumpy. haha

Thats the same, just replace the upper rubbers is what I was getting at. Not sure how you can tell if the bottums are bad, I guess if they are tight and have no play then they are OK (no rips in the rubber/sealed in lube, etc). The complete knucle piece is expensive up here, anyways. It is important to torque those down to spec though (some where around 35 Ft lbs i think). Its been three years since I put those on and they are still real good. Check out Rock Auto Parts Catalogue you might be able to get them by themselves or whole units for good price.

Alright cool. I think I might torque them down before I take it in and see how it handles then. Even though they are bad. Is it 35lbs on all of the bolts for the front sway bar?

Sorry for all the questions.:/

Just a sec!

Only got 05 specs.

Stab Bar: Link Nut Upper 27 (not 35 as I said) Lower 75 (not required to undo if just changing top bushings.
Bracket Bolts 45 (Ft Lbs that is).

Looks like I will be just ordering the MOOG replacements from RockAuto.

They are cheaper and for sure to fit my truck.

So how do you guys think I should be after all of this:

*alignment
*new tires
*new moog inner tie rods
*new moog outer tie rods
*new moog upper ball joints
*new moog lower ball joints
*new moog front sway bar bushings

Engine, Tranny, and all is peachy, so I should be good... right? Haha. What other little things could be worn and needed replacement?
