A buddy of mine has 2004 Ram 2500 4x4. he is redueing his brakes, rotor and pads. He wants to know, in order to take the rotor off, does he just remove the caliper/bracket and castle nut? thanks in advance

You may have to hit the edges with a hammer lightly to brake it loose.

No need to do the castle nut to remove the rotor.

Usually the center will rust on to the hub a little so as mentioned it may take some whacks. Also like he said no reason to remove that nut unless your doing the hub replacement or a cv joint. Brakes just need to remove the wheel and then the caliper bolts and and the smaller bolts that hold that attach the pads to the caliper.
