Tomorrow I'm buying 400 pounds of sand for my truck bed. Where should I put it thou in the bed. Towards the cab or tailgate?

I would evenly distribute the bags right next to the tire welds in the bed

I tried using bags last year but didn't need them because of the 4x4, plus it gave me **** mileage so I just took them out right after Christmas

I dont know what kind of snow you guys get in MO, but here in CNY we get ridiculous amounts of lake effect. that crap is sloppy and slick, speed is the biggest factor in accidents around here.

Oh I wish we sometimes only got 8"-12".... the weather ******* are calling for 5"-10" tonight. we got prolly 14" so far and will probably get 2' or more by wednesday evening... few years ago the town I lived in got 9' in 8 days... 10minutes north of us got 11'... Life sucked for that week and the month after.

Put the bags as far to the rear as possible. The farther forward you put them (even over the axle) will allow the suspension to distribute more of the weight to the front axle.

When I use to load for snow and ice I used only about 150 lbs against the tailgate. Today is 80 degrees with a slight chance of showers. You guys really like wieght...

I used 4 of the tube bags of sand right over the axle last year. I might only need 2 or 3 this year since I don't have the Crapyears anymore.
