So I'm driving around in my 02 ram and I notice my seat belt light is on. So I plug it in and the light stays on. Anyone know how to fix this?

start with your seatbelt on before starting the truck

The Chime does not go off. I never thought about that. I'll try to start the truck with the belt already on and see what happens. Even if that does work, that's not normal right?

no that does not sound normal.....it sounds like the connection to turn off the light and ding is not being made when you buckle your belt. Were you doing anything under the seat ? Could you possibly have pulled or cut a wire?

I've only had the truck for 3 days so far and I haven't been under there yet. but if that is where I will find the wires I'll look there and see if anything looks strange. Any where else to look for defective wires or fuses?

Try disconnecting the battery. That might work on resetting the error.

I disabled my seat belt reminder on my '11 and it will stay lit. Not sure if it goes off when bucked... Lol I'll have to try and see

Its possible the previous owner had cut/wired or removed something.

Maybe he did do something because I get no chimes at all when the seat belts are off. I'm not complaining about that but I would be nice to get rid of that light.

The 02's don't have reminder chime on them to tell you put your seat belt on. The light just stays on if you don't put it on. So like others have said it's not making a connection somewhere or the previous owner cut something
