I was actually going to suggest the same thing. Alot of times we get used to our truck and dont realize its potential until you take the mod off.

For instance, I have a $4000 suspension on my current truck. When I installed it, the ride was night and day smoother than stock on the highway and it really shined when going fast offroad. I was starting to think that the nice ride was wearing off until I drove my Dad's 08 stock 3500 yesterday. I had a headache from hell when I got out of the truck because of how rough the ride was. Made me really appreciate my suspension upgrades.

Just for fun, run the 91 tune for a few weeks and then take it off and see what you think. I bet you notice the difference immediately.

1 other thing has has not been mentioned is that right now we are testing parts in the heat of summer. I dont care what mod you are installing, it is not going to show its full potential until you get in some better air.

So i put my truck back to the stock settings today from the 91 tune and the only big difference i noticed how much better it shifts in the stock setting!! As far as acceleration and felt HP's.... almost no difference at all. Im a little confused as to why? Has anyone else made mention of his like me or is my truck to stubborn to make noticeable changes with the 91 tune?? Im sure there can be a logical explanation.

Have you run more than 1 tank of gas through it? With the 91 tune, if you are not running at least 91 octane fuel, it will get some spark knock and pull timing. I wonder if maybe you had a bad tank of gas that was causing that spark knock. It is very rare that you wouldnt notice gains with the tuner. hundreds of guys have done back to back dyno pulls and runs down the dragstrip with the Superchips, and everyone saw very noticable gains. I have only heard of 1 or 2 others that claimed that the tuner didnt make much of a didfference.

3 full tanks of only 91 octane. The truck seems confused if you will on the 91 tune... Almost like it doesn't know when to shift up or down in 1st and 2nd. Seems like it hangs on a certain RPM. Should i put it on the 87 tune with 91 fuel or back to the 91 tune and reset my PCM? Im at a loss with this cause i cant find many if any cases like mine.....

Try the 89 tune. Also, does anyone sell 93 octane near you, or is 91 the highest?

You are right. Try the 87 tune first while still running the 91 octane...then try the tow tune with the 91 octane. Down here we have 87, 89, and 93. I always ran 93 on the 91 tune and had great results.

No way. You'll have mileage, 87, 89 and performance 91 tunes. I think.

The older Superchips tuners had 87, 89, and 91...the new ones have 87, 91, tow, and mileage tunes.

Yes...try the 87 tune with the 91 fuel. That slight knock and pulled timing is the only thing I can think of that would cause you not to notice any gains from the programmer.

So what would cause my truck not to like the 91 tune setting even if I'm using 91 octane fuel?

So far this morning the shifting seems better on the 87 tune. Little bit better throttle response than stock as well. I'll have more to report after a few days. Thanks again.

Keep us posted. Even if you like the 87 tune, I would still try the tow tune after a few days as well just to see what it does.

Will do!! And another guy on another forum said that that the tow tune ONLY does shift patterns and no HP or torque gains.....

I cant remember where i saw it. I'm gonna try the Tow tune (89 tune) wed or Thursday for a few days.
