so with a second kid now, me and the wife are getting a decent return, i told here id buy her a living room set, and i can have the rest.

i decided instead of performance and go fast stuff, ill do the please keep running stuff.

anyway i have all the stuff to redo the suspension, ball joints, bushings, (bilstien, and moog of course), and for the hemi, new belt, tensioner, pullys. the question i have is what does the EGR valve do, do they go bad, and should i ad it to my list.

then maybe some new tires, intake, tuner, cam, nitrous,blower..................*****

"make every repair an upgrade" FTW:flipthebird:

Could do an egr delete with heads and cam swap lol. You have a good list made up to keep the truck in tip top shape.

im just about to hit 100k, 99208 to be exact. i just replaced the pass side cv axle, at 60k i did msd wires, had to replace the lower idler pully cause it exploded on the parkway(i changed the upper and lower) at 90k i did the plugs, every fluid in the truck, and cleaned the TB. and i had the trans service done yesterday. Ive just been noticing more noise(squeaks n creeks) from the front end, and bolth rear shocks have wet marks on em.

o and no the egr valve has never been touched, and ive had the truck since 23k miles

found this with quick google search:

The EGR valve helps your car more efficiently and completely burn fuel by recirculating a portion of your exhaust and running it through the combustion process again. This results in a cooler, more complete burn of the fuel which decreases you car's noxious emissions by prohibiting the formation of some harmful gases.

I say yes to replacing the egr valve. It can effect your mpg in a negative way. I replaced mine at 50k. it is a really easy swap maybe like 30 minutes tops. This is a pic I took of the new one next to the old one. and if your at almost 100k then I would say def yes to replacing.

Man I hate paying my taxes the right way....don't pay during the year, pay all at tax time. No returns but I get use of my money instead of the government.

EGR wouldn't be a bad idea to replace. Mine went out early in my 2005. I had less than 30k on it I believe.
