Theoretically if I were to go drag my 4x4 should i launch in 4HI or 2HI

i believe 2hi on these trucks are just regular driving. if your having traction issues you can launch in 4hi then shift out by 30mph.

4hi will give better traction, but you will have more power loss through the drivetrain. So if you can get traction in 2wd go with that but if you just cant hook up try 4 and I assume if you have shift on the fly you can shift out of it as you go down. Dont know what it takes for it to actually disengage but im sure someone knows.

I can't imagine shifting from 4wd to 2wd while trying to race would help or be good for drivetrain. I think you would be better off put some sand bags over rear axle even though you would add weight you would get more traction and hookup quicker.
