I currently have the stock tire size on,but want to go a little bigger before I lift it. Anyone running 285/75/17 a/t's without any rubbing? I'd like to be able to play around off-road some so concerned about any possible rubbing when the suspension is tweaked more than pavement driving. Also, anyone had their speedometer adjusted at the dealer? How much would it be? I don't want to have to factor in a difference. I'd rather look at my gauges and everything be correct as if I had factory size tires.

Any specific reason why you want 285/75's and not 285/70s? To me, 70's would be a bit cheaper since they're more common, and they're known to fit. I have a superchips tuner, so I'm not sure how much it would cost to have it reset at a dealer, but I wouldn't imagine too much. They might throw it in for free if you got an oil change there or something, depends on the dealer.

I may have been off on the size, as I was going from memory. I recall that my tires translate to roughly 31" and the other size was about 33".

I need to have recall work done for the airbag, so i may see if they will change the tire/speed setting while they're poking around on the truck anyways.

I have 285 70/17s (Yokohama Geolandars) on my 2500 4X4. I have no rubbing, but if one has a 1500, I can't say as to them due to different components.

I have a HU running Torque app with speed off GPS. What is see is not a consistent difference in speed but a increasing variable. At (say) 40 mph, differences are ~2-3 mph faster than indicated. At 70, it's ~4-5 mph faster. These trucks are speed-limited to what, 92 mph? At that rate of increase, I'm thinking I'd be able to see ~100+ mph actual vs. indicated. FWIW, my truck was originally-equipped with 245 70/17s.

Long story short, if you drive the indicated speed and you're not in a strictly-enforced LE jurisdiction, it's close enough. Go 5 mph less and you ought to be fine.

I have a 02 1500. I crank the torsion bars to level the truck and run 285/70/17. They fit fine with plenty of room to spare.

Nice. I ended up picking up a set of nitto's last week. They work fine and don't give rubbing issues off-road. Still going up 2" on suspension though and I think I may try fitting whatever the metric equivalent of a 35 is.
