What's the difference between them and what is recommended. Also how often should I change the trans fluid? I have an 02 and don't think it's been changed out

It should be like every 30 thousand miles.

Trans flush is when they hook it up to a machine and force all the old oil out of the torque convertor and such.

Fluid change is just changing out the oil in the transmission pan.

When you change the fluid, you're not really changing the fluid, you're replacing about 1/5th of the transmission fluid at a time.

Doing a flush can break varnish loose in tranny. That can lead to blockage and failure. Better to do fluid change. Wait a few days and do another. Other options is to do a change by pulling cooler line. This will change all fluid at once. Please read up on doing it, so you don't hurt your tranny.

Yeah I don't, and most, won't recommend an actual flush since the chance that more harm than help is pretty high.

I was the tranny guy at a GM Dealer for 15 years and believe me tranny flushes destroyed more trannies than they ever helped.

Yea I have like 200k miles and think it's been changed once... so from others say about a flush I should just do a change to ensure I don't mess the trans up and not clog it? My fluid has a nice pink color to it and don't have any metallic flakes in it at all either

I would definitely NOT do a transmission flush on your truck. Just do a fluid and filter change. I believe that the recommended fluid and filter change interval is more like 60k miles or more.
