sorry if the answer is else where, but search turned up nothing.

i have a 06 5.7 , 4 wheel drive sport. since new i had a issue when first engaging the transmission into drive after truck has sat a long time mostly overnight it will take 30 seconds for it to engage. i took the truck in and they adjusted the trans but i still have the problem.

i was to busy with work at the time and never took it back.

i have heard this is/was a common problem, anyone have any info on what my problem mite be and what the check/fix is?

btw, what i do is start the truck put it in netural (30 sec) to start the pump (no clue what i'm talking about) them slip it in drive or reverse and it engauges like it should..

think i found the answer in another post TSB 21-007-06 thank you for putting up this site.

This is called converter drainback; did you by chance use non-oem trans filters? Happens sometimes. When it is cold, just give it a little more time to warm up and fill the converter. Doesn't hurt it.
