Just received my muffler in the mail today. Going to be installing later today after my shift is over at 1:30.

As for the Dodge Caliber; my brother had one as his first car and we did about 5,000 miles in about 10 months. It may be that it had 140,000 on it, it could be that it had not been well taken care of, or just the design of the car, but it was one helluva POS. Felt unsteady in any corner over 40, no acceleration, wobbled above 70-75 and was just lacking power in the worst of ways.

Then again, if you'd want fuel economy; my brother was pulling 18-20 on his hilly college commute and 22-24 around town.

My brother has since upgraded to a 2006 Acura RL with VTEC. That thing has got power and he hasn't regretted the upgrade since he got it even though he only pulls about 17mpg on 91 octane. He's acutally planing to drop a turbo into it. Ha!

Nah, to my knowledge, they stopped shipping second cars, at least for the USAF.

Just out of curiosity.. And the sake of keeping my truck.. Would 245/70/17s vs 265/70/17s be much of a fuel difference? I have 285s now, and only get about 12.5 in town.

Where you get rear bumper from? I keep debating what I'm doing with truck, whether to keep her or see what horrible trade in offer I get on new Ram. But if it's a pure crap offer I'll just keep her and fix it up more. 1 think needed is new rear bumper.

CarParts.com - It cost around $190.00 with shipping, but it was only the chrome part nothing else.

If you need the whole thing rock auto sells them for around $380.00.

Anyone converted their gen 3's front brakes to discs? How hard is it? I'm planning on swapping brakes in a couple months and I'd like to get discs for all 4 wheels. The way my truck is setup is with drums in front and discs in back. I'm already having squeaking in the front left so I think I am gonna end up swapping brakes and wheel bearings.

I installed the muffler and it sounds great. As a bonus I was able to run a 90 degree elbow straight off the muffler so there is no pipe showing from the back. It makes it look and sound a lot meaner. It actually SCREAMS at higher RPMs. It's exactly what I wanted. Thanks to all you guys for the help in selecting the right muffler. It's still tempting to get a cutout and run it straight piped though! Haha!

Um. ..... check again for the drums in the front. You have discs all around on your truck.

Well, I'll need to check again. I had read and been told by the previous owner that there were discs in the back and drums in the front. Can't trust what people say I suppose. I'll make sure to check and keep you guys updated.

Damn, I feel stupid!

i would be EXTREMELY scared for how that truck was maintained if the previous owner turned a wrench on that truck and truly believed that there are drums on the front of any vehicle and disk on the back!

Here is a pic from my build on one of my 03 rams, you can see disk front and back, rest assured you have disk, if you are having stopping problems then new pads may be needed but thats an easy fix

I'll bet they meant anti-lock brakes in the rear and standard in the front...

My truck is this way.
