Got bored this afternoon and decided I wanted to see what the truck looks like with the middle door pillars in black. I have some matte black vinyl left over from another project so I gave it a shot. Doesn't look too bad. I'm going to see if it grows on me over the next few weeks.

Went to Autozone and picked up a 180* thermostat and some coolant from Pep Boys. Letting the truck cool off so I can do the swap.

Yes that looks really good, leave it.
What did I do to my 3rd gen today? I left her in the garage because of the rain, she's retired to only coming out on pretty days now. I got a Jeep as my next project:superhack:.

And it's installed. I did forget to reset the PCM but can do that later. Still runs good and temp is definitely lower. 'Bout 1/4 instead of half which is what most people have reported. :naughty:

Oh, the truck is just about to turn 174,000 miles too.

Installing my Gibson headers and found a bolt broken off INTO the head. This is just great! I was hoping for a smooth install and its come down to one freaking holt! Header to Wally World to get an extractor set now.

I still have a broken bolt in the passenger side head from when I replaced all the original studs. Hopefully it's fallen out by now. At least the manifold doesn't leak still.

Not today but a few days ago. Added rear inner fender liners. Those damn stupid plastic oem liners cost as much as my light bar. Lol. Before and after.

Ain't she purdy!!!

Still couldn't get the bolt out, so I'm taking it to a mechanic to have it removed. Went ahead with the install though. Just without one bolt. Also went and got a 3" true dual straight pipe job done. I'll post a video when I can get one made.

I had a random miss that has been happening periodically. So i spent a couple of hours cleaning and checking everything. I took the coil packs, spark plugs, injectors, and fuel rail off to check and clean everything. My on board air came in handy as I used my air gun to make sure everything was clean and blown out. Actually quite a bit if dirt and grime came out. Runs like a champ now.

Did around a 300 mile round trip up to just north of Santa Monica for a friend's memorial service. Truck drove awesome the whole time, no problems at all after installing the 180* thermostat Friday. I did get a chance to reset the computer before the trip so it should be all good now. I love the way the truck rides now with the McGaughys 2/4.5 spindle/flip drop kit. Truck is just super smooth now and handles so nice. Wish I would have done the drop sooner! Can't wait to see how it is with the rear sway bar back in and proper length shocks in the rear.
