Drove 4+ hours (280 miles) to my Wife’s Aunt & Uncles. Towed back an ‘06 Kia Rio for my Daughter (1st Car). Took a tank to get there and a little over a tank getting back. Was running 65 - 75 mph, I thought it would burn more fuel.

Quick question for the masses.
This just started happening, but when I turn the air on, doesn’t matter if it’s hot or cold, I hear something rumbling in the dash. The only way I could describe it is like a fidget spinner is spinning inside the dash. Or like a flap isn’t closing properly. Anyone have any idea what that could be? And how much of the dash am I going to have to take out to find/solve this? Thanks

I was scared my hood was gonna get all dented up from me sitting on it but I guess I’m just too light-weight for that (and i was also trying to stand on one leg to get the weight off the hood lol)

Also I recently repainted my dash, it all looks pretty good but one type of painters tape I used apparently didn’t like sticking so i got some small overspray areas

I’m starting to think theres too much purple so I might be painting it again on the next couple of months lol

I started noticing that the subwoofers in the back were intermittently cutting out. Took a look at the connections, DAPO literally just had the 12v and ground screwed in. Cable ends were frayed and very loose - I could pull the wires out.

So I redid all the connections. Heat-shrink and zip-tied everything to be clean. Still need new door speakers though.

Couldn't find one of these threads in this section (did a search) so, I figured I'd start one.

So...what did YOU do to your Gen3 today?
concerning the rear axle strength of a 2004 3500 ram 4x4, primarily axle tub wall thickness on the AAM 11.5 rear axle. there seems to be alot of questions about how strong the 11.5 is compared to other axles like dana 80, dana 70, etc., especially in the tube wall thickness with conflicting results. i wanted to know for myself, so i took a 3/16 drill to the drivers side tube thats close to the center pumpkin and began drilling. first i taped off the drill at 1/4'' , because many experts said 3rd gen 11.5 axles are weak with only 1/4'' tube wall, not true i kept on drilling slowly 3/8''deep, then 1/2'' deep, and finally i stopped at 3/4'' guessing that was the limit and i didnt want to drill thru the tube. so there you have its 3/4'' thick 4'' diameter tubes on the 4x4 dually. this explains why my dodge ram can be handle a 5 ton payload with out bending the axle. these trucks are very under rated in the payload capacity. heres pics if how i did it. "Man i just had to know'' 11.5 axle 2.jpg 11.5 4.jpg 11.5 axle 1.jpg 11.5 3.jpg

one other point, i found this pic of a 2011 11.5 aam axle with the tube ends cut off, called him up and he said only the gen4 3500 DRW rams have the thicker 3/4'' tube wall thickness axles. i guess he is wrong

Just curious, why’s that? I think it looks pretty cool with the solid black dodge that’s the same color as the tailgate

I just like clean and smooth, thats why all my trucks have a 100% shaved tailgate as well as the antenna shaved off the fender

Any pics? I was thinking about debadging my truck, but it’s an 08 and I’m worried that you’d be able to tell where they badges had been just from the sun not affecting the paint there for the last 11 years
