I have spent the last few days trying to find pictures around this site for what I am going to do but can't.

I have an 03 1500 quadcab short box 4wd and plan on leveling it out before I get new tires. I can't decide if I want to go 305/70r17 or 315/70r17. I am leaning towards the larger of the two nut need to see a picture of what it looks like. If someone could post a picture of their truck with a leveling kit with either of these tires I would greatly appreciate it. right now my truck is desperately needing tires and I am having a hard time deciding which size to go with.

Thanks in advance!

Go with the 315s, you won't regret it and save you money in the long run not having to buy new tires like my dumb a$$, I decided Nehru 285s are good and at first they were now I'm pissed:killer:

Yeah i'd definitely go with the bigger size. Down the road you'd regret getting the smaller tire. Just like when guys get a 4" susp lift as opposed to a 6".

In case anyone else was wondering
305/70/17 = 33.8x12 R17
315/70/17 = 34.4x12.4 R17

The tires I have on mine are Fuzion XTI 315/70r17 and they fit great; no rubbing or fitment issues. All of the pictures in this link are with these tires. They were on it when I bought the truck.

Remember that with stock wheels & a leveling kit, the 315 tire will probably rub at full steering lock or close to it.

I think 315s are going to follow the groves in the road a lot. Not to mention accelerate the wear on your suspension and steering.

I'd definitely go with the 315s of your options though.

You might also run on the knuckle with 315s if you have stock wheels

I had that set up a long time ago with my 03 1500. Only I used the stock rims at first with 315/70/17's and had no problems with rubbing.

I did change the wheels then to the AR Baja's, same backspace as stock but they have a 0 offset compared to the stock -24 offset, that brought the wheels out a little more away from the truck and had more room with turning. The tires stuck out from the fenders about 1" after putting the Baja's on.

I think you may have issues with stock rims and just a leveling kit. 305/70/17 maybe if you have no mud-flaps. When I leveled mine the biggest I could get on were 305/65/17 Pro-Comps. I have since added a 1" Body Lift and with some new 9" rims and 20 to 30 mm outward bound (Backspacing) I can prolly do the bigger of those two myself or 35/12.50/17. Either way Tires that Big are $$$. Gotta wear out my 285's first. Good luck with your purchase. You could try a test fit with a used Tire, our local shop is helpful with that kind of stuff, maybe you can try that or find someone with that set-up near you.

Pic with 305's, Ready-Lift 2" and stock Rims. (I should have left my truck with this older look!
