I was looking at getting the magnaflow y pipe and I'm not sure what size I need to get. I have the 5.9 magnum in mine and I didn't know if there was a difference in size between it and the Hemi.

i don't have a 5.9 so i can't measure, but if you can crawl under there with a ruler....you kinda have to eyeball it but you should be able to get the size of the pipes.

Are you putting on headers / building a full exhaust?

If you're just replacing the stock Y pipe, the 'improvement' will be so minimal.. save you $ and effort.

the y pipe itself is less than 30 bucks, people that I've talked to said that on the 5.9 replacing the y pipe changes the truck significantly by allowing it to actually breath.

I had the muffler shop cut mine out and run pipes straight back to a single in dual out dynomax mounted backwards, effectively making the muffler the y-pipe. I think it's a lot cleaner set up than before, it's definitely less restrictive than the factory y-pipe.
