Kepping in mind I have a 4x4...

Was under the truck today and was looking at the clearance between the 17" OEM RAM Mag and the Lower Ball Joint and it got me wondering if 20" rim were required to install Lowering spindles?

If the Hub is moved upwards 2", my 17" rims will most definitely NOT clear the BJ stud/bolt unless I shorten the bolt a good 3/4".

I know I will have to modify the knuckles to accept the beefier BJ, but don't currently have the budget to swap all my wheels (4Summers and 4winters) with 20" if the 17" don't fit.

On my 2wd with drop spindles I had to trim the nut on the lower ball joint to run 17s

I also had to trim off the threaded part of the lower ball joint to clear the stock 17s. If you have a negative offset wheel or run a spacer you're fine. I run a 1/2" wheels spacer on my front winter wheels and I'm fine.
