2/4.5 drop and what tires with stock wheels

I am looking for advice beforehand so I don't waste time and money.
1. Is the backspacing/offset and width the same on my 04 with 20s as the newer style 20s on either 06-08 and even the 4th gen factory 20s? I am not sure yet what wheels I will end up with but definitely staying with factory 20s
2. With whichever wheels I end up with, what is the best size tire to go with to get a wider tire look than stock and what size do I need to step down to height wise to run a 2/4.5 drop?

I have been searching for 3rd gen trucks with a 2/4.5 drop and stock 20s to get an idea of what tire size I want/need. I definitely want a wider and shorter tire. Any pics you can provide to help me with my decision is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this will help, but I have a 2/4.5 drop with new ram 20s and stock tires. Never had a problem with rubbing. The tires are 275/60/20

a 285/50R20 will be a good tire size for this much drop. Slightly smaller diameter than above, and a touch wider. It's a very common aftermarket size, so there is a good selection and cheap prices.
I'd avoid the Grabber UHPs, I had a set, and I was very unimpressed with their wear.

Unfortunately no. And they were on a 2G as well.

I run 275 /55 / 20s on stock wheels and they are about 1/2" shorter than stock and very well priced compared to straight 50 series.

I'm not sure where you'd buy one, and I bet you'd have a hard time getting someone to trade you. Mine is a sport, so it came that way. You could always try posting it on your local craigslist, might get lucky lol

Im on 305/50-20s on a 3/8 drop. They dont rub too bad but being 12.5 inches wide they hit the sway bar once in a while

Stock tires on 20s w/ a 2/4 drop. Once I go through these I'd like a 285/50 they do look good but 305 woul be nice too

I ran a 275 55 rubbed a little in the inner wells upfront. Now I run a 45 nexen and they look undersized but with all intentions on fully framed on bags with in a yr ill rock em....

When I ran factory 20's I used 285/255-20 on 08 SLT rims. 31 inch tall. No rub front and back running at speed on Virginia back roads. I also used Tembren bumps to limit travel.
