are all drop shackles created equally?

I'm going to be purchasing some 2" drop shackles at some point and I'm wondering if some brands are better than others or are they all pretty much the same? Also where is a good place to buy?

Good name brands are pretty equal, mcgaughys will prolly be the cheapest and most commonly bought, djm being the next inline. Please dont buy some cheapo knock off. I believe moes performance has one of the best prices on mcgs. If not try another vendor on here, if non of them carry or can get them contact lowrider depot.

The McGaughy's shackles are the most popular and affordable shackles available. I installed a set on my brothers 03, and they were very easy to put on. He has been running them for 3-4 years now with no issues. Just make sure to grease them before install to prevent them from squeaking on you.

Thanks for all the input. I checked out your link and those look good. I didn't pay attention is price per/ or pair? Also do need to buy bushings or anything?

One more question. My truck is sagging on one side in the rear, it about 1.5 inches lower on the driver side than the passenger side. Would it make sense to replace the leaf springs along with shackles to even this out?

Pricing is for the pair, and no extra bushings are required. These are complete and ready to install.

As for the leafs, does the drivers side leaf look flatter than the passenger side?

Honestly I can't really tell by looking at them that it looks flatter but I can't think of anything else that would account for the difference in height. When I stand behind the truck it very clearly leans to that side.

That could just be bad shocks, with the gas tank on the driverside it may just sag, from old worn shocks

I have Bilstein HD shocks that are only 8 months old. I was also under the impression that shocks didn't really affect the height much especially in the rear?
