I know its better to do a spindle drop, but what is it about a coil drop that screws up the geometry? Obviously the price of coils over spindles is quite a bit. Just curious.

With a coil drop it changes the angles of the ball joints. The lower isnt affected as much but the upper takes the beating. With a 2" drop youll be ok and itll still align fine, anything more you would want to look into raising the upper control arm mounts. Youll eat ball joints like theyre going out of style. Mine is dropped 5" in the front with a 2" spring and 3" control arm. I raised my mounts 5" off the frame and the upper control arm is level at ride height.

Do you have pictures of what you've done with the UCA? I've trimmed my spring I'd guess about 1-1/2 along with drop spindles. The adjustment slots have been extended. I'm in spec and it drives good. but if I do anything more the UCA mount will need to be modified.

Theres a kit sold by michighan metal works that does exactly what i did. The cost of materials and doing it myself was the easiest and cheapest way out. I used 3" flat stock 3/16 thick and had slots machined in them. I cut 8 pieces 5" long then cut pieces to brace the factory mounts and go between them as you can see in the pictures. Ive got almost double the adjustment capability over the oem mounts. Truck aligns perfect ever since i raised the mounts.
