Desperately needed a pickup, traded my 951 for a Ram that may have been unloved but not to the point of incurring irrepairable damage.

In the 944 world the 800 lb gorilla for upgrades is Lindsey racing and the 800 lb gorilla for routine OEM maintenance parts is 944online.

Can anyone recommend equivalent sources for the Ram?

As far as upgrades/mods I'm looking to lower it some since I'll frequently be hauling a motorcycle and it's easier to get it up into a lower vehicle.
Also since the tires are going bald, now may be the time to get new rims and tires since I can't visually inspect the rotors & pads through the small slots in the stock wheel face.

As far as routine maintenance, I'm hoping the answer is my local Advance/Autozone.

Thoughts?

Moes performance for upgrades.

Rockauto for maintenance, as long as you bundle shipping items. Any local place for other maintenance stuff is fine. Oem mopar fluids and or synthetics are recommended.

Mcgaughys for all your lowering needs.

Is there a recommended video or tutorial online on lowering a 2006 RAM 1500 V6? (I did look)

I also want to get smaller wheels to facilitate it going even lower, does anyone have good or bad experiences doing this or should I stick with the stock wheel size?

What wheels do you have now?

As for a video, just look up lowering spring install and a flip kit install.

Smaller wheels inhibit lowering on a 3rd Gen Ram. The ball joint studs face downward and to use 17s, you have to hack half the balljoint nut off along with the stud when using spindles. Not exactly safe or confidence inspiring. 20's are the minimum, I run 22's.

Not to mention, smaller wheels and tires would look absolutely horrid with the large wheelwells and huge body of the Ram.

The lowering process is pretty straight forward as long as you don't get too crazy, but if you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help out. If you get insane lowering like a few of us have, it gets a bit more involved and expensive.

How low do you want to go? This is 5.5" in the front, 10" in the back. 22" RT wheels with 265/35's for reference:
