I'm going with either a McGaughy's 2/4.5 or 4/6 kit. Which shocks should I get if I am wanting to replace all of mine? Are there shocks that would work with both kits, or would I need different shocks depending on which kit I intall? I have ordered everything to install either drop on my truck, it is just going to depend on whether or not the tires rub which one I will end up with. Just want to buy shocks once . Seems Belltech shocks are the ones everyone recommends, but exactly which ones???

Thanks,

Kevin

P.S. This is for a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x2 Hemi

Belltech Nitro drop II will work on both. Not the best but one of the most popular.
Rear = 8504
Front = 8001

Will these work?

Belltech Street Performance Shocks. Front = 10602I Rear = 2212FF

I see the 10602I say 1-3" drop, would they work ok with the 4" drop?

Thanks,

Kevin

Welcome to RF.

I had the Nitro II's and in my opinion they weren't good enough for our heavy trucks.

I have the Belltech Street Performance ones on now and I can tell a HUGE difference. My truck doesn't bottom out anymore. I only have a 2/5 drop, but you might could call Belltech and ask about the 4" drop. I'm sure they'd know. But I bet they'd still work anyways

From what I've read, even if I do 4" in the front, since 2" of it is spindles the shocks would work just fine.

Thanks,

Kevin

D you are running the 4/6 drop right? Thats the max before the frame has to be notched?

C notch cames with the McG' 4/6 kit.
My axle would def be slapping if no notch was done.
