I wasn't sure how frowned upon that method is now. we were broke kids back 15 years ago when I did this to my s-10. I had a good bit of stacked blocks and cut the front coils as well.
but when something goes bad, it is an epic failure. clipped a ubolt on a manhole cover when the city was repaving, everything came apart from the rear axle.

Damn, thats crappy. I guess just make sure you get shorter Ubolts. I have a buddy who has a crawler, and while he isn't doing it to lower it, he is constantly buying used springs and restacking them to get his desired height...

yea, the ubolts weren't too long. too much drop block made is just a few inches off the ground. they would hang up on everything.
taller tires would have helped. now knowing more than I did then, I should have flipped the ubolt so the threads were facing up.
it still would have damaged something. everything was really close to the ground. the front was eventually bagged. the pinion angle was always terrible. I learned alot from that truck. and have never lowered a truck since.

There's a lot of people around here with slammed rides. Aren't you just getting the 2" drop shackles?

lol, if you're just getting the drop shackles, those are a piece of cake to install, however you cant really tell a big difference from stock height. So what are you lookin to lower it?

Are you gonna get your rims first or the flip kit?

Most likely the flip kit, I'm using some of my tax returns for the rims. But some $$ is going in the bank. Not sure how much though.

Same here. I would bag it if I didn't live on dirt roads.

Either way Maddog its going to be nice not having the rear facing the moon.
