Ok so I just finished putting on my drop shackles which say they are 2" but of course they are really like 1 3/4". So the before measurement with the stock shackles was 38 3/4" from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well and with the drop shackles on the measurement is 38 1/2". I'm only going to get 1/4" drop with the shackles????? I took my airbags off so they are not whats holding it up. I'm I missing something here guys???

It only went down a 1/4" though. If I drive it around do you think it will settle a whole 1"?

drive around. I know mine settled about 3/4" after driving it for a few days, but I got more at first. I got 1 3/4" out of mine.

There's nothing to flip, and I can't see them settling - its not a spring.

what kind did you get? I know the slammed1 ones had a notch in them - which determined left or right. Its been a few years since I messed with my set (I rolled on my 08 for a few months) - but I had about 1.5" drop on mine.

I can't see how they can "settle".......well, unless the angle of the shackle moves - which would kinda freak me out then.

when you torque them down on a lift and the suspension is hanging down, you need to drive it to get the angle correct. Just like the front when it comes down off a lift, the tires are sitting like \ / the straighten out.

yes shackles will lay back to where they sit comfortable, think about how you installed them, str8 up and down right, atleast thats how i did mine. then after a few speed bumps and driving around they "laid back" towards the rear of the truck, like they are supposed to sit, if you want i can go out and take a pic of how mine sit now....remember dont tighten those bolts too tight they still need to move, its part of the suspension remember....

gotcha. I got the bolt started on mine, then put the full weight on the truck before torquing them down.

Shadow don't fully torque them down until you drive it around with the full weight of the truck. They need to settle like they're saying. Think I got just about an inch and a half out of mine.
