Well guys I ordered the parts a couple nights ago.

McGaughy's Spindle/Flip Drop Kit 2/4.5

McGaughy's 5000lb Helper Bags (Bought off DT Forum, thanks to FUKKEN!)

Hellwig Lowered Rear Sway Bar

Caltracs Traction Bars

Polyurethane Bushings for Control Arms/Front Sway Bar/Rack n Pinion

Came to around $1600 Bucks, but it's money well spent. Air bags will be here tomorrow, the rest should take about a week-1 1/2 weeks to be delivered. In Preparation, Ive been reviewing the best way to tackle this project, and so I decided...

To remove the bed! 6 bolts, tailights disconnected, spare tire removed, fuel neck removed, and stupid ground strap that I didn't see until we were trying to lift the bed up... removed.

This should make all the rear suspension parts easier to remove, install, and align. Cant wait to actually begin throw these ***** on! Wish me luck! Ill keep this updated with progress/pics.

And for all you country pessimists... Remember... It's a 4X4 Im dropping! icon10.gif

Prolly a good idea, there gettin pretty wore down. About time for a new set. Maybe some Nitto's. Unfortunately, I still have an open differential, so it's 1 wheel peel. Ill just have to rotate my tires each time I burn out the right rear! HAHA

Do you have another car you are going to drive around while the bed is off or just drive it with it off?

I have a motorcycle, but it's too cold. Im just gonna drive it as is. I have an under-tailgate light bar I zip tied to my frame, so I have tailights. I didn't wanna try and duct tape my tailights to the frame.

Whenever the parts get here, Im taking 5 days of leave and installing them at the base auto hobby shop. Shouldn't take me more than 3 days for everything. Think I'll do the rear drop, then caltracs, then sway bar, then air bags, then front spindles and bushings. In that order.

Sure thing! Ill take a ton, cause I wanna do a DIY Install for each component. Especially for the 4wd drop.

Yeah, they charge $4 dollars an hour to use the lift, and they have almost every tool known to man. So Ill just get as much done each day, and roll it out of the bay at night.

Quickest, best and less odour is to wire wheel the dirt/ rust off, wipe her down and paint using a good brush with some POR or quality Chassis Paint and thats your day one, then still have that extra day or 4 left to bolt on your mods. Then undercoat spray the wheelwells with Undercoat Rubberized spray. Some suggestions to ponder dude.

We used to have a dailey rate for big jobs if you were just in a bay (10 Bucks).

Doesn't sound too hard. And the truck could prolly use it, being an 05.

I gotta ask them, they just might have some type of daily rate like this. It sure would be nice!
