I have a 2005 Standard cab w the 20'' wheels. I guess because of the shorter wheel base the ride is pretty rough. If I hit a pothole an inch deep it feels and sounds like I drove over a concrete block, I mean loud and brutal. Is there any way to soften up the ride and soak up the chatter bumps and dips ? I'm not looking for an unrealistic fix since it is a SWB truck, but there has to be something I can do to make it not quite so harsh.

Any ideas or has anyone else solved the same puzzle ? I love the truck and won't loose any sleep if nothing changes but it would be cool to have a bit less of the violent impacts translated into the cab like gunshots

You could go for some softer shocks.... Maybe even get bigger tires with more sidewall to take more of the impact

Shocks work better when they are compressed a little. Try this before spending the money throw some weigh about 150-200 lbs in the bed of the truck and secure it. See if the ride changes.

Is your truck lowered? It doesn't look like it in your pic.

Anyways, My truck rides pretty rough too, I think it's just our body style though. But I have noticed with some weight in the bed, it rides like a boat haha, other than that, the only other option is better shocks like suggested above

Spoke with a buddy today who works for a local 4x4 suspension shop. He suggested procomp mx6 shocks. They look pretty nice and they can be set to the softest setting to soak more.......like motocross suspension
