I have an 02 ram 1500 CC and I am wanting to go lower. Nothing crazy just a 2/4 but I was wondering if just doing the shackles on the back would be enough for me. Looking to see what other opinions might be. Do the shackles and see if that does the trick for me visually or just go with the full drop. Just not really a big fan of the raked stance on the truck

Shackles will drop it a bit. Usually 1.5" with 2" drop shackles. I say go full drop! Lol

I was thinking full drop as well. I am probably going with the McGaufies kit. People seem to like it

I too started off with just drop shackles. Quickly went full drop with Mcgaughy's 2/4. Buy from moesperformance.com you won't be disappointed ;)

I got that crap on my truck I had to replace shocks and rebuild the front end.It had air shocks that were blown and it rode bad .The person who had the truck had Dub wheels I got stock 08 20 inch on it now when I got the truck you couldn't put a bag of ice without the rearend bottoming out he had flipped the springs I'm going to later going to put it back like it came from the factory. If this is your thing go for it take in mind when you do all this stuff it changes a lot of stuff and really if you try to sell that truck you got to have someone who likes that stuff.

2" drop in the rear in this pic, never had an issue even towing, when i went to a 3/5 I would hit the frame with my rear axel and very hard dips and my 5/12, well thats when i went custom frame lol

My 03 with a 3/5 compared to my old 07 stock, if the drop is done right you wont lose any ride or functionality, my truck has a custom 5/12 and it rides extremely close to stock, except my frame never drug stock lol

Lowering the ride

When I got the truck it had air shocks and it had a bracket that attached to the rear axel looked like a big c the shocks were shot on the back I thought I had a bed wheel .Took it to a place in Macon Ga to check out the wheels when he put it on the lift he grabbed the rearend it was like it was just hanging I had 60 pounds of air in those shocks I replaced those shocks that day and looked he had replaced the shackels and flipped the springs to make it closer on the ground.Well when I replaced the front ball joints and shocks a arm,tie rod ends, and stabilizer links I saw that it had McGurdy front springs on the front the trucks rides a lot better but with it being lowered with the sepentioned much stiffer its level like I have said if you like the truck slammed to the ground go for but take in mind if you ever want to sell that truck you got to have someone who like this type of ride. I took that c bracket off I put a chair on the back bed came across a railroad track and it slammed the back end.I went to a car lot and saw a truck like mine looked my hunch was confirmed the c bracket on the axel took that thing off put the shock on the rear axel I was completely sure at first since I hadn't put shocks on a car in years but I was right believe it drives and rides much better and handles like a dream but the ride is stiff too.
