I have an 04 1500 2wd with a rough country level kit. The ride quality absolutely suck now because it said stock shock will work. Yeah that was a lie. I was wondering if anybody had the specs on the factory shocks as far as extended length and collapsed length so I can make up my mind on what shocks to purchase otherwise I'm just buy rough country shocks for 2'' lift.

I don't have the factory specs but I have a '03 4x2 and can recommend the Pro Comp ES9000 shocks.

Pro Comp Shock Absorber - ES9000 Series, ES3000 Series, ES1000 Series, ES6000 Series, Adjustable Shock, Toxic Shocks

They are affordable, work for up to 2" lift and give a smooth ride.

I do and I love 'em. Current size is 265/70R17 but I'd like to get them in 285/70R17. Or perhaps in 275/70R18, not sure at this time.

They are very good on asphalt, dirt roads, gravel, rocks, in wet conditions and even snow. What kills them is mud.

Shocks

I'm running the rough country 2-3in shocks they're a lil bouncy but I thinks it's because I wasn't able to instal my level kit yet but I like the ride they give.

I just used a stock parts store Monroe shock for a 2500 in the front of mine with a 1-1/2" spacer... Works great. Maybe not the best shocks, but for $20 each with a coupon I'm not complaining. I'd still be rocking stock suspension otherwise... :)
