2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7

Ok. Question: My 05 has almost 100,000 on the stock trans. It doesn't seem to have any signs of problem yet. My truck is lifted with 35" tires and has rebuilt 4:56 rear. If and when I do need the trans built do I get it built stock or is there any upgrades I should have done to the tranny to help so I don't put so much strain on the trans with the tires I'm running. I do tow and I do take my truck off road occasionally. No it's not a 4x4. Thanks to all in advance

Good looking truck man. I can't offer any help on the trans question but what size and brand of lift are you running? Also, does the right side of your truck not look as good as the left side? Lol

Thanks man! I'm running 35x12.50x17 **** cepek tires method double standard rims. 4.5" max trac spindle lift with bilstien 5100 shocks and the whole truck is perfect just like that one side. Lol!

As long as your running stock power or even more, you're good with the stock trans. High power build require some trans work but yours should be good.

A tuner won't add that much hp. What are your plans for mods?

I'm open for ideas on mods. I plan on keeping this truck for a while and buying a low mile 12v Cummins in the near further.

Motor is all stock. I put a k&n cold air intake and full magnaflow catback exhaust.

A shift kit in the trans would be #1, you can upgrade the TC to a higher stall to help get her rolling better. A tuner (as stated already) won't give you much gain in the HP/TQ area, but it'll definitely wake that motor up.

Bought it at about 56,000 and I'm just about at 99956. I used it to travel for work when I first got it. Now that I'm not traveling. I car pool to work so I only drive it every 3 weeks. But it gets use on weekend running around and what not.

That's close to the same setup I have. I have **** cepeks fun country's at the same size with a 7" maxtrac lift and bilstein shocks. I'm about to have to invest in new tires soon though, thinking about the red letter generals. Lol
