I love the look of tall sidewall tires.. but most 6" kits say 18" rims or bigger. Can you not use 17" rims with 4.5" backspacing? What's the reason? Is it the lift spindle that gets in the way?

Yeah usually they make you buy bigger rims with more offset or buy spacers. The 17" stock wheels will rub the top of the spindle. My 2wd lift kit was designed for the 17" stock wheels to fit back on but not all 4wd kits are built that way. I'm sure somebody else will have better info as I'm only really knowledgeable on the 2wd kits. Lol

I figured that the spindle is the issue. I'm hoping they'll fit cause I really don't like big rims.

Yeah me either. I'm happy with my 17s. I don't understand the stretched tire look with 22" rims on trucks now a days. I wouldn't want to have to worry about curb rash on my lifted truck. Lol
