How often should shocks be changed? My truck is 3 years old with 37k, running stock shocks.

From what I have read, the OEM shocks on most vehicles would start showing wear at somewhere around 50,000 miles...HOWEVEVER, depending on how the truck is used there are other factors that could lengthen or SHORTEN that estimate...I would say go by feel...if you are experiencing abnormal tire wear or other condidtions that could be blamed on shock wear...change them.

the level sits on top of the strut - little different than the older setups, it doesn't change the performance of the shock.

My 96 still has what I believe to be the stock shocks...might not be though, but they are MOPAR SVT shocks

Good Points. 48 K Miles due but like Dave and Adam hinted OEM plus lift I would change them out this year but thats just me. Your truck is nice looking so new shocks would add some shine underneath.

There is nothing wrong with your shocks. You don't offroad.

lol ... They can't be any worse then PA roads. We still have farmers that use steel wheels on their tractors and wagons driving down the roads! It's against their religion to have rubber tires!

Wendy, if you get a lift that will give you a great excuse to get new shocks! :D

Some lifts come with new shocks so it would be multi tasking!
