I have a 2004, quad cab, laramie, awd 1500 ram. I want to level the front out and get some new wheels and tires. But here's the problem: the drivers side is exactly 1/2" lower than the passenger side, front and back (haven't touched anything yet). The measurements from the ground to the wheel wells are fd-37", rd-39 1/2"
Fp-37 1/2", rp-40"

So, any idea why the whole drivers side would be 1/2" lower? It's noticeable to me without measuring, but might just be because it's my truck. I'd like to figure this out before I level it or anything. Thanks

Torsion bar adjustment is where I would start but I'm unfamiliar with an AWD setup. I would assume its IFS with torsion bars?

It is ifs with torsion bars. I was actually trying to figure out why the drivers side is 1/2" lower than the passenger side. Front and back. Seems odd to me.

Very common. I think every vehicle that I have measured has been lower on the drivers side, cars and trucks. The drivers side handles more weight on a day to day basis. Crank your torsion bars to level it out front to rear and side to side. Pick up some new shocks and get it aligned.

Yeah definitely common. Most older trucks Ive seen have this issue. You have the weight of the Driver, the Gas Tank, and the Battery on the drivers side of the truck all the time, so it makes sense why.

So if I level it out, or close to, it should even out the rear as well?

And thanks for the replies.

It should, may not be exact but will be close. Thats my experience with torsion bar setups.

Thanks. I'll post the results once I do it. Probably not until after the new year.
