So I found these coils on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/192046675283

MaxTrac 3" Front Lift Coils Springs For 2003-2008 Dodge RAM 2500 Diesel 2WD

Contacted the seller and asked if they're work on my 2004 Ram 2500 2WD Hemi and they replied "no, these are for a diesel".

I'm confused - is there such a difference between these 2 engine types that it affects the coils that will work? Is the weight difference that much?

The diesel is heavier and the coils are different to support the weight while giving the specified height.

If you put them on a truck with the gas engine, they will ride differently plus lift it more. I can find you a link to coils.

Yes, the CTD weighs about 900lbs compared to your 300lb Hemi.

The spring load rate on that coil isn't going to work as the weight.

If a fat person laid down on a mattress, they would sink in more than a skinny person. Those springs are designed for weight. So if you used those in your truck, it would be a jar snapping ride due to every bump would be transferred to the truck as the spring would not absorb it as designed.

Geew! I had no idea there was such a weight difference between those 2 engines. Makes all the sense in the world now.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

To be fair, I had them on my watch list for my truck but it did take a little effort to pull up my app [emoji56]

So next question. If I use the coils in the link, do I need to do anything to the rear or my truck to level it?

Pic says it's a 2.5" lift:

This is how my truck sits on stock coils:

Front:

Basic math says I shouldn't need to lift the back but then again, I don't know what I don't know. [emoji848]

No. The coils will just lift the front so that they are closer to even. I would recommend new shocks personally. I haven't replaced mine yet but it's on my list.
