About my truck....stock 08 1500 4x4 at the moment. Truck goes to the shop in the morning to have Bilstein 5100 Leveling struts and rear shocks installed and alignment. I have a Zone 3" body lift waiting to go on once work schedule allows. So my Ram will be 5" higher in front and 3" higher in back after everything is installed.

I was planning on running 20x10 XD wheels (Rockstar or Monster) and either Toyo or Nitto 325/60R20 A/T's.

Until today, when I saw a truck and fell in love with the wheels/tires he had. He was running 22" chrome XD Monsters and Nitto Terra Grappler A/T in 325/50R22. It was on a late model Tundra with a 3" level according to the guy. It looked SICK!!!!!!!! I thought 20's were big....22's are real big!

Anyway, once I got home I started researching.

I can get 22x9.5 chrome XD monsters that fit my bolt pattern. Offset is +18 and backspace is 5.96.

The Terra Grappler A/T's in 325/50R22 equal 34.84 dia and 12.95 wide on a 10" wide measuring rim.

Big question.....Will a 12.95 Tire on a wheel with +18os / 5.96 bs fit a 1500 with 5" of lift in front??????????

I know nothing about o/s and bs! Can anybody give me a little guidance.

only thing I know is that those 22" tires are going to cost you a ****ton.

I don't want to have to trim anything........I can't find any pics of these wheels on a Ram to see how much they stick out. I'll continue to look!

22" are getto IMO . If you tow they wont be worth a dam . 20"s are ok .
But if its all for show and no go then 22's would be cool .

Tires ... just make sure you dont get a wide tire like a 12.50 as you will need flares or a new paint job every year .
Try to stay as close to stock rim width .. i think its 9.5 and a tire that is the same width as stock so you will save paint and will not have any rubbing .

With myself seeing your truck in person i would definitely do chrome rims , but i would stick with 20's and have some rubber to absorb the bumps . keep in mind the less rubber you have the ******* the ride will be .

My plan all along was 20's until I saw the 22's yesterday. Nowhere near ghetto! I gotta have em....if they will fit! Rubber sidewall should be about the same as stock. I have 20's and 33's now and want 22's and 35's. Should be pretty close.

like i said they will fit but you will have a smaller tire and will feel every little bump in the road .

Give up ride comfort for looks ? that is the question you must answer yourself

I don't think it will be bad.......My truck is 2 years old with 6700 miles and has never seen a gravel road let alone off-road. I just don't want rubbing problems.

only way you will rub is on a wide tire like a 12.50 . but like i said if you go that wide you will have more issuse than rubbing, your tiers will stick out past the fender wells and **** up your paint . A 35x11.5-22 will tuck in nicely . to be safe a 35x11-22 will be perfect that will sit in the fender close to stock .

best thing to do is go to a tire shop and have them put one on the front and turn to full lock to find possible rubbing .

I have 2" bushwacker flares , so I'm not worried about fukken up my paint. The tires are A/T and 12.95 wide. Wheel is 9.5" wide with a +18os and 5.96 bs. Rubbing is my only worry!

oh **** ... 12.95 wide tire is not safe on a 9.5 rim .... you will pop of the rim ..tire is to wide . I did not see the size earlier .. you need at least a 10.5 wide rim .

Buddy of mine put a 13 wide tire on a 9.5 rim and went on a off ramp curve and the tire popped off the rim and he wrecked his truck . And to boot insurance would not pay for it .
